Build on your basic sewing skills as you create a fully lined tote bag from start to finish.
You’ll learn how to construct and assemble your exterior and lining, create sturdy handles, and finish your tote for a polished, functional bag you’ll be proud to use.
Construct Your Tote
Understand the essential parts, controls, settings and sewing terminology.
Create & Attach Handles
Learn to thread your machine, wind and load a bobbin, and prepare your machine for sewing.
Work With Interfacing & Batting
Learn how interfacing and batting add structure and stability to your tote, with the option to add simple quilting lines for extra texture and detail.
Learn how to assemble the exterior and lining, turn your bag, and finish it neatly for a polished, fully lined tote.

Basic Machine Skills Required
2-Hour Class
Classroom sewing machines are available at no additional charge. You’re also welcome to bring your own machine.
Sewing 100: Machine Confidence or equivalent basic sewing machine skills are required.
You should be comfortable threading your machine, winding/loading a bobbin, sewing a straight line, and backstitching.
Small-group instruction with time for demonstrations, guided practice, and individual help along the way.
